Some disadvantages in using an open-source LMS are that users need to pay for software maintenance and updates, institutions may need to employ an IT staff to integrate the software with existing administrative systems, and it may not provide the security and privacy settings required by banks, educational institutions, and healthcare enterprises to safeguard sensitive data against cybercriminals.
